1. Leave the Bandage On (3-4 days) Unless the bandage leaks out of the sides or the corners. If the bandage leaks out of the sides or corners remove early. Rarely you can have skin reactions to the adhesives in the second skin. This will become apparent if the second skin becomes red around the corners of the bandage usually within the first 24 hours. If this occurs remove early.
2. Clean Your Tattoo: Remove the bandage in the shower, gently wash the tattoo with mild, fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water.
3. Pat Dry: Gently pat the tattoo dry with a clean paper towel or a lint-free towel
4. Apply a Thin Layer of Tattoo Ointment: Use a tattoo-specific ointment recommended by your tattoo artist or COCOA BUTTER to keep the tattoo moisturized. Apply a thin layer to the tattooed area. Avoid over-applying; a little goes a long way.
5. Avoid Tight Clothing
6. Keep It Clean: For the first week, gently wash your tattoo 2-3 times a day with soap and water. Pat it dry after each wash and reapply the COCOA BUTTER. After one week, you can switch to a fragrance-free lotion if you like.
7. Avoid Direct Sunlight: UV rays can fade and damage the colors of your tattoo.
8. Avoid Swimming: Avoid swimming in pools, hot tubs, or natural bodies of water for at least two weeks.
9. No Scratching or Picking: Do not scratch or pick at your tattoo, even if it itches. This can damage the healing skin and affect the tattoo's outcome.
10. Be Patient: Healing times can vary, but most tattoos take about 2-4 weeks
